Kings Find Their Goalies
Leading the way in Dresden’s net this year, will be veteran goalie Scott Tricker.
Tricker spent the 2012-2013 season playing for the GOJHL’s Junior B Chatham Maroons. In 16 games, Tricker collected an 8-4 record with a 2.98 goals against average and 0.909 save percentage. Last season, Tricker backed up for the Maroons throughout their playoff run, after playing 10 games, going 5-2-1 with the Junior C Belle River Canadiens.
Tricker, a Thamesville native jumped into the Junior ranks after backstopping the Lambton-Kent Cardinals to the 2012 Kent high school hockey title with several remarkable performances.
Tricker, who spent time with the Chatham Maroons this preseason, was beat out for a position with the Maroons days before signing with Dresden.
Also in net for the Kings this season, will be Steven Taylor, a Sarnia product, who played Major Midget ‘AAA’ hockey for the Lambton Jr. Sting in 2012-2013. After that, Taylor played 14 games for the Mooretown Flags in 2013-2014.
Taylor had a sparkling preseason performance, making 43 saves against Alvinston in a 3-2 win.
The Kings will open their season at home Friday night against the Alvinston Flyers. Puck drop is at 7:30pm.
