Chatham’s Jake Lindley made his OUA football debut on the weekend, suiting up for the University of Windsor Lancers in a win over the York University Lions.

Lindley, a true freshman, who made the Lancers as a walk-on, was ecstatic after his first OUA game.

“It was a surreal feeling to know that the hard work I put in to becoming a better athlete has paid off in starting that game,” said Lindley following his Lancers debut.

“It was always a dream for me to play a varsity sport in the OUA and now that I am doing that I have set much higher goals for myself.”

Lindley had one broken up pass playing defensive back for the Lancers in their 35-3 win over the York Lions.

A human kinetics student at Windsor, Lindley is  a graduate of Chatham-Kent Secondary School, where he played football, volleyball, basketball, and track and field, en route to winning the Dr. Jack Parry Award as Chatham-Kent’s top student-athlete.
