Merlin’s Nick Delyzer is the most recent 1998 born player to make the jump to a Junior roster, as the forward recently signed with the Lambton Shores Predators Junior B team.

Delyzer was one of the leading scorers last season for the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Minor Midget ‘AAA’ team, collecting 7 goals and 9 assists in 30 regular season games, before adding 14 points in 18 playoff games.

Scheduled to play for the Kent Cobras Midget ‘AA’ team this year, Delyzer inked with the Predators, who now have four 1998 born players on their roster, after splitting his preseason with the Blenheim Blades and Chatham Maroons. In his only preseason contest with the Maroons, Delyzer scored two goals.

Lambton Shores’ other 1998 born players include Delyzer’s teammate from last year, goaltender Anthony Hurtubise, who was a Windsor Spitfires draft pick, Sean Ross, another Windsor pick, and Sarnia Sting pick Franco Sproveiro.

Lambton Shores also features Chatham’s Drew Marlatt and Wheatley’s Ty Jackson.

Delyzer made his Lambton Shores debut Saturday night against the Chatham Maroons.
