Wallaceburg’s Shaun Suisham continues to give back to his former high school, Wallaceburg District Secondary School, this time by providing the school with funds for new football helmets.

Suisham donated $5000 to the Tartans football program, which was matched by the NFL foundation, in order for the Tartans to purchase new maroons helmets with a chrome coloured “W” on the side.

The Tartans have benefited several times from Suisham, who plays in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers, recently being named a captain for the Steelers.

In the past, Suisham has run football clinics, and donated money for equipment, and the school’s new scoreboard in Wallaceburg.

Wallaceburg will kick off their 2014 Senior Football schedule Friday, September 12 against the Ursuline College Lancers on the road. Kick off is at 3:45pm. The following week, Wallaceburg will formally kick off their Lambton portion of the new LKSSAA league, playing in Sarnia against Sarnia St. Patricks. Wallaceburg doesn’t play a home game until October 17, when they host UCC.
