Tricker Playing Soccer For The Fanshawe Falcons
Thamesville’s Rachael Tricker will be suiting up for the Fanshawe College Falcons women’s soccer team this Fall, after the Lambton-Kent Composite School graduate made the OCAA team out of tryouts.
“So far it has been awesome and a great experience, the coaches are great and the girls on the team are from all over Ontario,” says Tricker of the opening weeks of the season and training camp. “I have never really played competitive soccer in a league before except high school, so everyone has been really supportive with helping me out to learn new skills and techniques. The season has just started and I have already made some really good friendships. The competition level is high and there is a great sense of pride representing our school.”
Studying Police Foundations, Tricker also plans to play intramural hockey at Fanshawe, and along with athletics, is excited to begin the overall post secondary school experience.
“It has been great, lots of hard work and commitment,” says Tricker of her first days at college. “They have a great program here and they take very good care of their athletes. I’m looking forward to making new friends at Fanshawe this year and improving my game, also hopefully winning a championship representing Fanshawe.”
Fanshawe lost their opening game of the OCAA season, dropping a 1-0 decision to Humber. Tricker suited up for her first game of the OCAA season in a 6-2 Fanshawe win over Redeemer College.
