Van Rycheghem, Oulds Named To Tournament 12 Rosters
Hosted by the Blue Jays Baseball Academy, and Roberto Alomar, the second annual tournament highlights the best Canadian amateur baseball players with college eligibility. Both Kent Bridge’s Luke Van Rycheghem, and Chatham’s Austin Oulds, were selected to play for Team Ontario’s two entries at the tournament. With players being selected by the Blue Jays scouting department, Baseball Canada, and Major League Baseball’s scouting bureau, the invitation to the tournament is an indication that both Oulds and Van Rycheghem are considered top college, and MLB prospects.
Currently, both Van Rycheghem, who played for the Ontario Blue Jays, and Oulds, who played for the Great Lakes Canadians, are scheduled to play for Ontario Green at the tournament.
The duo are both Chatham Minor Baseball products, and are eligible for the 2015 MLB draft.
