Essex 73s take big win over Wheatley Sharks
The Essex 73s continued their winning ways as they took an 8-1 win Saturday night against the Wheatley Sharks.
Essex came out strong in the first period as Jordan Ryan opened the scoring early. Tyler Tuner and Mark MacPherson followed with two power play goals giving the 73s a three to nothing lead heading into the second.
Wheatley finally landed themselves on the scoreboard as Riley Ennis found the back of the net half way through the second. Essex responded, adding two more goals when Drew Hull and Scott Brombley put it past Wheatley’s goaltender Conner MacKinnon.
Essex continued to dominate in the third as Daniel McIntyre added Essex sixth goal of the game. Tyler Tuner added another power play goal for Essex, as Tyler Scott put in the 73s final goal of the game.
Essex will host Blenheim on Tuesday, as Wheatley will travel to Wallaceburg on Wednesday.
