Big Night In The OHL For Chatham-Kent Products
James McEwan, who spent last season with the Chatham Maroons, scored his first career OHL goal with the Guelph Storm. Last year, McEwan played four games with the Storm, and has played 10 this season, going pointless until Friday’s game against the Windsor Spitfires.
McEwan found the back of the net at 18:26 of the first period, beating Windsor goaltender Alex Fotinos. Fotinos’ backup is former Chatham-Kent Cyclones goalie Brendan Johnston.
The Storm defeated Windsor 5-2, with McEwan finishing with a goal, +1 rating, and two penalty minutes, for a second period hooking infraction.
Thamesville’s Trent Fox, who played at Ridley College last season, scored his second OHL goal Friday with the Erie Otters, in their win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Fox’s goal came at 19:15 of the second period.
Fox and the Erie Otters were playing against Joseph Raaymakers, who served as the backup goaltender for the Greyhounds. The former Chatham-Kent Cyclones forward finished the game +2 as the Otters defeated the Greyhounds 6-4.
Wallaceburg’s Brady Pataki was also in action with the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves against Peterborough, but was held pointless.
