Blades Hold Off Lakers
Zach Horvath, who had a hat trick Sunday night in Blenheim, opened the scoring in the first period for Blenheim.
In the second frame, Austin Bentley had a goal, and then assisted on a Alex Ritchie goal, while Teddy McGeen would score, with an assist to Horvath, pulling the Blades even farther ahead. Wallaceburg’s Bronson Bea also scored in the second, sending the game to the third, with Blenheim leading 4-1.
Down 4-1, Wallaceburg fought back early in the third period with goals from Jeff Brown and Brendan Ritchie on the powerplay to make it 4-3.
With the score tight however, Horvath scored his second goal, and third point of the night, netting a powerplay marker to make the score 5-3, which is how the game would end.
Wallaceburg is now off one week until they host Dresden next Wednesday in Wallaceburg. Blenheim hosts Mooretown this Sunday.
