The John McGregor Panthers Senior Girls Basketball team travelled to London, Ontario this past weekend, winning the Fanshawe College Tournament.

Bridget Carleton and Ashley Jackson starred for the Panthers over the weekend, with Carleton being named the tournament MVP, and Jackson earning the nod as a tournament all-star. The duo play club basketball in London together for the London Ramblers JUEL team.

The JMSS Panthers defeated London St. Andre Bessette 57-22 in the opening game with Amber Chettleburgh and Bridget Carleton leading the scoring. The Panthers then came back with an equally dominating performance against London South, winning 52-32 with Carleton and Laura Polowick leading the way.

In the semi-final, JMSS faced Etobicoke. With Carleton and Ashley Herfst as the games top scorers, the squad from Chatham booked their ticket to the finals with a 51-37 victory.

Facing Mother Teresa in the final, John McGregor again outpowered their opponent, earning the tournament victory with a dominating 66-39 score.

The John McGregor Panthers currently sit with a perfect 6-0 record in LKSSAA play. They will face the 7-0 Northern Vikings Tuesday, October 21 in a battle of the unbeatens.
