Chad Laprise Wins UFC Debut
The judges decision was scored 30-27, 30-27, 30-27.
Laprise made 55 strikes, compared to Cedeno’s 26, and took down his opponent 4 times.
Laprise, who entered the night with a perfect perfect professional record, extended that streak, which spans back to a stint fighting in Bellator, and also to The Ultimate Fighter Nations, where Laprise was eventually named the reality show winner, earning himself a UFC contract.
Accroding to popular MMA website MMAJunkie.com, Laprise didn’t give Cedeno much space in the fight, and controlled from start to finish. In particular, Laprise used a barrage of leg kicks, and wore down his opponent by the third and final round.
“By the third round, Cedeno looked increasingly lost as Laprise hammered at his leg and ended the fight with a definitive suplex,” wrote the website.
Chad Laprise will now await another chance, likely against a tougher opponent in a larger scale event, to continue his UFC career.
