Wearing pink jerseys in support of breast cancer Friday night, the Dresden Kings hosted the Amherstburg Admirals, coming up a goal short in a 4-3 loss.

James Brooks, who scored a hat trick earlier in the week for the Amherstburg Admirals, continued to set the league on fire, opening the scoring Friday night on the powerplay, and finishing the night with two goals and an assist.

In the second period, Kevin Ritzer got the Dresden Kings on the board in the second period, before Brooks struck again to keep the Amherstburg Admirals on top.

Ryan Holzel extended Amherstburg’s lead to 3-1, before Dresden’s Derek Daly scored a pair to tie the game 3-3.

The Admirals however, would again battle back, with Brett Beattie scoring the game winning goal with less than four minutes to go, securing the 4-3 win.

After the game, the Dresden Kings would auction off their pink jerseys in support of cancer awareness, donating all funds.

The Dresden Kings are back in action Saturday night against the Lakeshore Canadiens.
