Former Cyclone Trowell Named GOJHL Player of the Month

Chatham-Kent Cyclones product Cody Trowell received the first GOJHL monthly honour, as the GOJHL’s Western Conference Offensive Player of the Month for September 2014.

Playing for the Sarnia Legionnaires, Trowell collected 8 goals and 5 assists in 7 games. During that span the Legionnaires, who currently sit atop the GOJHL‘s Western Conference went undefeated.

A 20-year-old, Trowell played for the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Major Midget ‘AAA’ team in 2010-2011 scoring 19 goals and 42 points in 29 games. His line, which included current Chatham Maroons Michael Verboom and Trevor Richardson was considered one of the best in the province at the time.

Following his time with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones, Cody Trowell signed with the Lambton Shores Predators of the GOJHL, before spending a season in the CCHL with the Pembroke Lumber Kings, before returning to the GOJHL with the Sarnia Legionnaires last season, when he scored 24 goals and 26 assists in 48 games.

Also taking home GOJHL honours were Sarnia Legionnaires defenseman Kyler Keating, and LaSalle Vipers goaltender Paolo Battisti.
