Great Lakes Junior C Power Rankings: Week 7
Essex continues to hold on strong to the top spot, and the Wallaceburg Lakers continue to climb the Great Lakes Junior C Rankings. Although nothing is set in stone, it appears the true colours of a few Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League teams are starting to show. Mark Hagerman lays it out in CKSN’s Week 5 Great Lakes Junior C Power Rankings.
#1 Essex 73’s / Last week #1
The 73’s picked up 3 wins in a busy week with 2 of them being nothing short of convincing. Essex is once again proving to their competition that though the team may change, the objective remains the same.

#2 Lakeshore Canadiens / Last Week #4
With Coach Serviss back on the bench it’s business as usual in Lakeshore. The Canadiens add 4 points this week riding a hot John Jefferies between the pipes. With the posibility of Blake Rutckyj returning to the lineup from Leamington the Canadiens have much to look forward to.

#3 Amherstburgh Admirals / Last week #3
The Admirals are well aware of what it takes to be a winning team and games are starting to show hints of more diciplined play. The road to success may start to be more traveled in Amherstburg.

#4 Dresden Kings / Last week #2
Every team needs to be knocked down every now and then to expose weekness that should be addressed. The Kings will use the past week as a teaching tool that will only help this team grow.

#5 Wheatley Sharks / Last week #5
The Sharks finish a rather quiet week picking up a win against the Flags. A stabilizing defence and consistancy from the forward ranks coupled with solid netminding from Conner MacKinnon are welcome sights in Wheatley.

#6 Blenheim Blades / Last week #6
The Blades continue to look for continuity up front while the deffense need to find consistency in the back end. Back to basics positional play and player accountability will be key factors for moving forward.

#7 Wallaceburg Lakers / Last week #8
The Lakers are reaping the rewards due from hard work sixty minutes strong. The Wallaceburg coaching staff have to be credited for their work both on and off the bench.

#8 Alvinston Flyers / Last week #7
The Flyers finish their week with a solid performance against the 73’s and come up short against a very hungry lakers squad. There is no doubt that Alvinston will take positive steps forward as the new week begins.

#9 Mooretown Flags / Last week #9
Testing the waters in Mooretown with a new Head Coach will take time. The Flags will be busy adjusting to a new direction and new systems. A solid foundation
should have the Flags back on track in the near future.
