There was sad news Saturday for the Chatham-Kent hockey community, as Dresden Kings general manager Dennis Brewer passed away.

A former head coach of the Dresden Kings, Brewer was a long time volunteer in Chatham and Dresden, including coaching in the Chatham-Kent Cyclones organization, and working within the Chatham Maroons Junior B hockey system.

Dennis Brewer, who was 58, is survived by his wife Kerri, and children Bob and Jeff.

Prior to Friday’s game, the Dresden Kings and Blenheim Blades held a moment of silence for Brewer, and shook hands prior to puck drop, out of respect for Brewer, who was a well respected father, coach, and husband.

Kings president Dave Cameron also spoke, referring to Brewer’s character, and the organization’s gratitude to their general manager.

From CKSN, our thoughts and prayers go out to the Brewer family, and the Dresden Kings organization at this time.
