Senior B Lacrosse Will Benefit Wallaceburg
“This is a great opportunity for the town and community of Wallaceburg to watch a high level of lacrosse,” says Tye Belanger, one of the driving forces behind Wallaceburg acquiring a Senior B team. Belanger, who played for the Sarnia Beavers last season, and is a goaltender for the National Lacrosse League’s Colorado Mammoth, as well as a minor lacrosse coach in Wallaceburg, believes Wallaceburg being awarded this franchise shows the strength of the local lacrosse community.
“Being able to have this team just shows that the lacrosse interest and love of the game is strong in Wallaceburg,” says Belanger.
Having a Senior B team, also allows recent Junior graduates, and professionals to play in Wallaceburg.
“This new senior team gives players an opportunity to continue their lacrosse careers after the junior level,” explains Belanger.
“The local talent we have is some of the best in Southwestern Ontario, so why not keep these players on the floor and showcase them in front of such passionate fans. Fans will expect to see intense, physical and thrilling games. You will witness top level talent from current and former NLL players. Fans will leave the arena wanting to come back in anticipation for the next game.”
The new Wallaceburg Senior B Lacrosse organization will be holding their first meeting Tuesday October 21 at 7:00 pm at the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena mezzanine. Anyone interested in helping with the team, or giving their feedback, is welcomed to attend.
