TJ Brodie Signs Five Year Contract With Calgary

Dresden’s TJ Brodie will be a member of the Calgary Flames for several years to come, after Brodie signed a new 5-year contract extension Monday.

TJ Brodie’s new 5-year contract is worth a reported $23.25 million, for a $4.65 million cap hit, which starts in 2015-2016.

The 24-year-old defenseman is in only his second full season with the Calgary Flames, but has played a total of 192 NHL games, during which TJ Brodie has collected 11 goals and 55 assists.

This season, Brodie is leading the Calgary Flames in minutes played, and has 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in his first 7 games played.

A 4th round draft pick, 114th overall, of the Calgary Flames in 2008, Brodie represented Team Canada at the 2012-2013 World Hockey Championships, and is considered one of the top young defenseman in the National Hockey League.
