Blenheim’s Todd Warriner has signed on to join the Sportsnet broadcasting team this winter, serving as a colour analyst for their Canadian Hockey League (CHL) broadcasts.

Working with Hockey Central host Jeff Marek, Warriner will provide analysis for games across Canada this winter on Friday’s and Sunday’s.

“Looking forward to working with Jeff, an old friend from Toronto, but also with similar junior pasts, he covered the Guelph Storm during my Spitfire days,” explains Warriner.

Marek announced the addition of Warriner to their broadcasting team via Twitter, writing “Pleased to welcome former NHL’er and former Windsor Spitfire/Kitchener Ranger Todd Warriner to our CHL coverage this season on @sportsnet.”

Todd Warriner played four seasons in the OHL, before spending a decade in the NHL, last playing in 2002-2003, compiling 453 career games.

Warriner has gained experience calling Junior hockey games in recent seasons working for TV Cogeco, calling Windsor Spitfires games, alongside Chatham radio personality Chris McLeod.

“I still hope to continue my colour work with the Spitfires when possible,” says Warriner, of continuing his role with the Spitfires.

Warriner, who is also coaching with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Minor Atom team this season, will begin his broadcasting schedule with Sportsnet for the Russian Super Series in November.
