The Chatham Outlaws Atom B girls hockey team won gold at the Barrie Sharkfest this past weekend.

Chatham faced the Grand River Mustangs in the final, needing overtime to decide the game. After Libby Barnard shut the door for the Chatham Outlaws the entire tournament, the Outlaws entered overtime tied 0-0 with Grand River, before Asylnn Spence scored the winner.

In round robin play, Chatham opened the tournament with a convincing 7-0 win over the North Bay Ice Boltz. Alex Maryschak scored twice in the win, while Lindsay St Germain, Abby Balan, Jade Unsworth, Ella Altiman, and Ashlynn Spence also scored for the Outlaws.

Facing the same Grand River Mustangs team they would face in the final, Chatham was stymied, suffering their only defeat of the weekend, a 2-1 less. Hannah Balan was the lone scorer for the Outlaws.

The Outlaws went on to beat the Barrie Sharks 4-0 with goals by Erika Galbraith, Jade Unsworth, Ashlynn Spence, and Riley Bentley in their final round robin game, and met the Sharks again in the semi-final, and cruised to a 3-0 victory with goals by Erika Galbraith, Hannah Balan and Lucie Maine.
