Van Every Named New Kings Captain
“It is a great honour to be named captain,” says Van Every. “I am excited for the opportunity to lead the Kings moving forward.”
Van Every, who spent last season with the Ridgetown-Blenheim Chiefs Juvenile team, where he served as an assistant captain leading the Chiefs to an OMHA title.
Prior to that, Van Every spent two seasons with the Kings, and returned this year, wearing an assistant captains “A” for the first portion of the season.
“It is a responsibility that I do not take lightly and will continue to give it 100% each and every shift and motivate my teammates to do the same,” says Van Every of his added responsibility as captain. “We have a great group here and I truly believe we’re going to make some noise come playoff time.”
Van Every replaces Jim McKinlay, who has only suited up in 10 games this season due to a shoulder injury.
Through the first 20 games of the season, Van Every, who hails from Ridgetown, has 5 goals and 3 assists for 8 points.
The Dresden Kings are back in action this Saturday when they travel to face the Blenheim Blades, before visiting the Wheatley Sharks Sunday November 30.
