EnviroClean Car & Dog Wash Cougars of the Week: Lucas Doyle and Khuen-Die Jung
Both Doyle and Jung played a pair of outstanding games this week during the Cougar Minor Football semis and finals.
The TVCogeco Pines out scored the Exercise MD Wallaceburg Bantam 46–41 in the semi-final, and eventually lost to Enviro Clean Car and Dog Wash McGregor Bantams in the final.
In two games, Lucas Doyle scored 3 touchdowns, and had 20 rushes for 267-yards, 4 catches for 85-yards and made 13 tackles. Khuen-Die Jung complimented Doyle with 3 touchdowns, 4 rushes for 87-yards, 3 catches for 34-yards, and made 12 tackles. Jung also kicked 3 punts for 122 yards averaging 40.6 yards a punt, and averaged over 50 yards on kickoffs playing special teams.
Cesar Torres, who coached both Lucas Doyle and Khuen-Die Jung, had high praise for the EnviroClean Cougars of the Week.
“I have been fortunate enough to have coached both these young outstanding athletes over the last 5 years,” said Torres. “To see the growth, development and maturity of both as football players and young men has been an honour and pleasure. Lucas Doyle and Khuen-Die Jung are a coach’s dream. They always give unquestioned effort and are leaders by what they do on the field at practice and games. I am grateful and thankful for the dedication of both families to the Cougar organization. Lucas and Khuen-Die will play a big role on this year’s OFC Bantam team which will contend for an Ontario title.”
In the final, both Lucas Doyle and KD Jung left it all on the field, and never left the field of play due to low player numbers for the Championship game.
“KD Jung and Lucas Doyle had an outstanding Cougar Minor season, and we look forward to their contribution this summer with our Bantam Travel team as we fight for a OFC Championship,” said Cougars president Sel Jordan of the duo. “I would like to thank both these players families for their volunteerism this year and last year.”
