Great Lakes Junior C Power Rankings: Week 9
Week 9 of the Great Lakes Junior C schedule saw some major shuffling. The Blenheim Blades got back on track, while the Wallaceburg Lakers took a step back. Mark Hagerman lays it out in CKSN’s Week 8 Great Lakes Junior C Power Rankings.
#1 Essex 73’s / Last week #1
The 73’s continue to showcase their depth and consistency. Almost at the mid point of the regular season, Essex again this year has set the bar.
Record: 13-1-1-1
#2 Lakeshore Canadiens / Last Week #2
The Canadiens minus major contributors still come up with convincing wins. Any additions to the team after the Junior B fallout
will only strengthen a well rounded Lakeshore bench.
Record: 12-5-0-1
#3 Amherstburgh Admirals / Last week #3
Some will argue that the Admirals should have sliped this week. Amherstburg still remains a top team only held back by lack of dicipline
on the bench. Player emotions can take you out of the game before it even starts.
Record: 11-8-0-0
#4 Blenheim Blades / Last week #6
Two new faces on the Blades bench have inspired the squad both offensively and defensively. Durston and Myers add another level of depth both
in the dressing room and on the bench.
Record: 10-8-0-0
#5 Dresden Kings / Last week #5
Dresden also added new faces to their roster improving a team already headed down the road to success. Dresden would split this week in two close
contests, discipline will be key for the young Kings down the stretch.
Record: 9-7-2-0
#6 Wheatley Sharks / Last week #4
Frustration has reared its ugly head in Wheatley. The Sharks must get back to basics and play the complete heads up game they are known for. The wins wont come easy as is the case for the majority of teams this season.
Record: 8-8-0-2
#7 Alvinston Flyers / Last week #8
Alvinston is a team deserving of more wins than they know. The Flyers complete game is key for their success and every team in the division
knows well to never second guess them.
Record: 6-11-0-0
#8 Mooretown Flags / Last week #9
The Flags are finding success again now the dust has settled. Hard work in Mooretown will be proof positive of a solid run towards the playoffs.
Record: 4-11-1-0
#9 Wallaceburg Lakers / Last week #7
The Lakers come off of a tough week with thicker skin. The key in Wallaceburg will be adapting their aggressive forecheck on the home ice to the bigger ice on the road trips. The Lakers of late are fit for the challenge.
