Luke Allin Spectacular In Win, Laurier Athlete of the Week
With Max Allin graduated and playing professional basketball in Australia, the official passing of the torch happened this weekend as Luke Allin was spectacular for the Golden Hawks in their opening OUA win of the 2014-2015 season.
Allin had 23-points, including going 7-for-7 from behind the 3-point arc in Laurier’s 89-86 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues Saturday.
The six-foot-seven forward played 26-minutes for Wilfrid Laurier in the win, and added 5-rebounds.
The Ursuline College graduate also had 7-points Friday night in a 87-54 loss to Ryerson to open Wilfrid Laurier’s OUA season.
His weekend performance was good enough to earn Allin the Wilfrid Laurier Male Athlete of the Week honour, an award his older brother Max took home 15 times. This was Luke Allin’s first week of eligibility for the award.
Luke Allin and the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks will travel to face York and Queens on the road next weekend.
