Outlaws Dominant In Detroit
Chatham swept through their competition, finishing the weekend a perfect 5-0, including four shutouts and allowing only one goal against, which came in their 2-1 championship final win over the Oakville Hornets.
To open the tournament, the Peewee Chatham Outlaws pounded the Livonia Knights 11-0. Emma Doom scored a hat trick for Chatham, while Camille Blain and Hunter Twigg each had a pair of goals. Carly Belanger, Courtney Legere, Jocelyn Maryschak, and Reese Parks each scored singles, while Elizabeth Elders took the shutout in net to open the tournament.
Facing the Kissimmee Lady Vipers in their second game Laura Germani, Hailey McMahon, Reese Parks, and Sophie Maine scored in Chatham’s 4-0 win. Jessie McPherson had the shutout for the Outlaws.
Chatham continued rolling in their third game, with Elders picking up her second shutout of the tournament in a 5-0 win over the Michigan IceBreakers. Reese Parks led the scoring with two goals for the Chatham Peewee Outlaws, while Twigg, Blain, and Doom also scored in the win.
Again facing the Kissimmee Lady Vipers in the semi-final, Hailey McMahon scored twice to pace the Outlaws to a 5-0 win, securing their sport in the Bauer World Invite final. Belanger, Blain, and Maryschak also scored, while McPherson took the shutout.
In the final, Chatham ran into their toughest competition of the weekend, taking on a talented Oakville Hornets team. Chatham’s goals from Laura Germani and Hailey McMahon however, would be enough to secure them the tournament title, and a 2-1 victory.
