Change Isn’t Easy For Maroons
Two weeks ago the Chatham Maroons were riding a winning streak. Life seemed good in Maroon-land. Now, after a flurry of changes, including the departure of head coach and general manager Mark Davis, and assistant coach Shawn Tiffin, the Maroons are struggling, dropping their fourth straight Saturday night.
At no fault to the new coaching staff, the Maroons, are on a skid.
Travelling to Strathroy Saturday night, the Chatham Maroons fell 6-4.
Even starting newly acquired netminder Jake Patterson, who has multiple seasons of OHL experience to his name, didn’t help the Maroons, as Patterson was pulled midway through the game after allowing 5 goals on 19 shots.
Chatham received second period goals from Michael Levesque and Alex Morgan, but trailed 5-2 heading into the third. After Strathroy added another, Chatham clawed back into the game with goals from Morgan and Nate Pietens, but ran out of time in their comeback bid.
Chatham will have another opportunity to get back in the win column Sunday night on home ice as the Maroons host the LaSalle Vipers.
