The Chatham Maroons lost four straight. That skid however, ended Sunday night as the Maroons defeated the visiting LaSalle Vipers 7-5 on home ice.

Alex Morgan opened the scoring for the Chatham Maroons getting his team on the board less than four minutes into the game. The Maroons would keep going, with goals from Jared Dennis and Connor Doran to end the first period holding a 3-0 lead.

LaSalle would fight back early in the second period to tie the game 3-3 on a trio of powerplay goals, but the Maroons would fight through the adversity and again find offense to finish the period ahead.

Ian Faubert, Michael Verboom, and Connor McKinnon all scored for Chatham in the second period, giving the home squad a 6-4 lead heading into the third.

In the third, Brennan Feasey would round out the scoring for Chatham.

Feasey had three points, a goal and two assists, in the win, helping propel the forward into the provincial scoring lead in the GOJHL.

Feasey sits atop the GOJHL with 20 goals and 27 assists for 47 points in only 27 games. He is one point ahead of Waterloo’s Christian Mroczkowski. Michael Verboom, who has 43 points, sits in 6th in GOJHL scoring.

Chatham’s Brendan Harrogate had two assists in Sunday’s game playing for the LaSalle Vipers. Harrogate is on a hot streak, scoring 11-points in his last 6 games.

Chatham is back in action Thursday when they travel to Leamington to face the Flyers.
