Kings Trump Blades
In the opening frame, Tyler Boughner put the Blenheim Blades ahead first, scoring on the powerplay with the assist going to Bryan Boersma.
Before the period was over however, Kevin Ritzer would put the Kings on the board, assisted by Dillon Liberty and Macks Holmes to tie the game at 1-1.
Ritzer would strike again midway through second period on the powerplay, finishing off a passing play from Ross Krieger and Taylor Sisson. Ritzer’s goal would stand for the remainder of the game, as the Kings’ defense and netminder Daniel Tonietto would shut the door.
In the third period, Taylor Sisson would score an insurance marker for the Dresden Kings, with Krieger and Derek Daly assisting to secure the 3-1 win.
Tonietto made 20 saves in the Kings’ win.
The Dresden Kings are back in action Tuesday as they travel to face the Essex 73s. Blenheim will host the Amherstburg Admirals Sunday.
