The Chatham Maroons used a shootout for the second straight night to earn a win Sunday, as they defeated the St. Thomas Stars 5-4.

Chatham got out to an early 2-0 lead on goals by Trevor Richardson and Brennan Feasey.

St. Thomas however, would storm back in the third period to tie the game and take the lead, but a pair of Brennan Feasey goals, capping off his hat trick, would keep the Chatham Maroons in the game.

After a scoreless overtime, the game moved to a shootout. Alex Morgan was the first to strike for the Chatham Maroons, before Brayden Hopkins played the hero to end the game.

Chatham now enters the holiday break, which doesn’t see the Maroons play a game until January 4 when they host the Lambton Shores Predators in Chatham.

The Maroons enter the break in third place in the GOJHL’s Western Conference with a 20-11-1 record, only 3-points behind second place Sarnia.
