Jake Patterson had a standout game with 34 saves, and the Chatham Maroons beat the Leamington Flyers 3-1.

Chatham was paced by Brennan Feasey, who registered one goal. Feasey scored 6:50 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Chatham. Steven Beenackers provided the assist.

The Maroons put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Leamington to score on any of its three power plays. The Flyers were unable to stop Chatham from sending pucks towards the net, and the Maroons eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

Chatham additionally got points from Beenackers, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ian Faubert also scored for Chatham. In addition, Chatham received assists from Connor McKinnon, Jared Dennis, Brayden Hopkins, and Michael Verboom, who contributed one each.

Leamington’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Chatham power plays. The Flyers were held below their usual level of production. Leamington averages 4.0 goals per game. The Flyers’ offense rang up 35 shots on Chatham’s net.

Leamington was led by Tyler Duarte, who scored the team’s only goal. Duarte scored 4:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Leamington. Kyle Quick picked up the assist.

The Maroons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Michael Barrett recorded 42 saves for the Flyers. Leamington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
