Wallaceburg lacrosse product Tye Belanger will be suiting up for a different team when the 2014-2015 National Lacrosse League season gets underway this year, as the goaltender was traded from the Colorado Mammoth to the New England Black Wolves.

Belanger, who played for the Wallaceburg Red Devils, and has been living and coaching in Wallaceburg, is entering his fourth season of professional lacrosse.

“Beginning a new chapter in my pro lacrosse career,” wrote Belanger about the move. “Want to say thank you to the Colorado Mammoth organization for three great seasons. I’m grateful for the opportunity I was given in the mile high city. Enjoyed every minute I spent living out there, meeting amazing people along the way. I will forever be thankful for all the friendships I made while a I was member of the Mammoth.”

The New England Black Wolves were relocated after last season from Philadelphia, and will play out of Uncasville, Connecticut.

Originally from Mooretown, Ontario, Belanger has played 36 regular season and playoff games for the Colorado Mammoth over three seasons
