The Chatham Atom B Outlaws girls hockey team won gold at the Cambridge Roadrunners tournament on the weekend.

TO open the tournament, the Outlaws scraped out a 3-3 tie against the Ennismore Eagles. Lucie Maine opened the scoring for the Outlaws, and Abby Balan added another goal. The Outlaws were tied with the Eagles with 22 seconds left in the third period when the Eagles scored to lead 3-2. The Outlaws didn’t give up though, and Lucie Maine scored with 8 seconds left in the game to tie it up. Libby Barnard was in net.

In their second game against the Waterloo Ravens, Jade Unsworth and Abby Balan scored to give the Outlaws a 2-1 win. Hayley Doucet was in net.

On Saturday at 7 am, they faced the London Devilettes and had a convincing 6-1 win. Riley Bentley scored twice, and Jade Unsworth, Ashlynn Spence, Ella Altiman, and Hannah Balan each had one goal. Libby Barnard was the winning goalie.

They met the Livonia Knights in the semi-final and won 6-0, with goals scored by Rachel Szymanski, Alex Maryschak, Ella Altiman, Ashlynn Spence. Abby Balan scored twice. Hayley Doucet had the shutout.

In the championship game against the Lakeshore Lightning, Lucie Maine, Ella Altiman, Alex Maryschak, and Abby Balan scored to give the Outlaws a convincing 4-0 victory. Hayley Doucet and Libby Barnard shared the shutout. This is the second tournament win this season for the Outlaws.
