Wallaceburg’s Joel Shepley will be suiting up for the Canadian Lacrosse League’s Southwest Cyclops this season, as the local lacrosse product was named to the Cyclops’ roster this week.

The Cyclops, are a professional lacrosse team in the CLax.

“This is obviously an amazing opportunity,” says Shepley of cracking the Southwest Cyclops lineup. “It’s going to be a lot different than playing junior because there is no age limit. CLax is a lot different than normal box lacrosse and it fits my style of game more. I’m excited to be given this opportunity to play with some amazing players and can’t wait to get the season started this Sunday.”

Last season, Shepley captained the Wallaceburg Red Devils. The 2013 OLA Junior B Defensive Player of the Year, Shepley had 7 goals and 14 assists in 14 games with the Red Devils last season, before signing with the Six Nations Arrows.
