Teddy McGeen had a night to remember for the Blenheim Blades, helping his team defeat the Wallaceburg Lakers Wednesday night on the road.

McGeen collected a hat trick in the 6-3 Blenheim Blades victory, sparking Blenheim’s offensive attack.

To open the game, McGeen scored a pair of first period goals. Assisting on McGeen’s second goal was Matt Clark, who was Wallaceburg’s leading scorer for much of this season, before being acquired by Blenheim earlier this month.

Tyler Boughner opened the second period scoring a shorthanded goal for Blenheim, before Wallaceburg’s Ryan Gruszka got the Lakers on the board.

The team would continue trading goals as Dylan Smith scored for Blenheim, followed by a Jeff Brown goal for Wallaceburg, and finally McGeen, capping his hat trick off in the final minute of the period to finish the frame.

In the third period, the tradeoff of goals continued as Wallaceburg’s Mike Kindrachuk scored an unassisted marker. Dylan Muzzatti would answer back, closing out the scoring in Blenheim’s win.

In other Great Lakes Junior C action, the Essex 73s beat the Dresden Kings 5-4 in a shootout. Derek Daly had a pair of goals for Dresden, while rookie Ross Krieger collected 3 assists.
