Ridgetown bowler Meagan Belton recently bowled the best games of her life to help the YBC Bowler advance to the provincial 5-pin bowling tournament this coming March.

Belton, who bowls out of the Ridgetown Bowling Lanes, owned by Terry Little and Janet Fougere since 2012, won the Zone Round of the 4 Steps To Stardom Tournament in mid-December.

The tournament is considered the highest level of competition in Belton’s Junior division.

“She has a lot of potential and we believe a bright future in the sport,” said Fougere, who also coaches Belton along with Little, who was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame for 5-pin last year.

Carrying a 176 average into the 4 Steps To Stardom tournament, Belton shot a lifetime high single round of 305 en route to winning the tournament.

When she travels to the provincial tournament March 1, Belton will be vying for a spot in the 5-pin Canadian Nationals which are held in May.
