Blades Blow Out Flyers, Control Series
The Blenheim Blades took control of their best-of-seven series against the Alvinston Flyers by blowing their opponent out of the water Friday night, grabbing a lopsided 9-0 win on the road.
Teddy McGeen had two goals and two assists, while Dylan Muzzatti and Nolan Vandenboorn also scored twice and added an assist each to pace the Blenheim Blades, who at times this season have struggled to score, but exploded offensively in game two of their series. Blenheim now holds a 2-0 series lead.
Also scoring for the Blenheim Blades were Bryan Boersma, Dylan Smith, and Kellen Kaniecki.
Matt Clark, Mackenzie Dick, and Tyler Boughner each chipped in with a pair of assists in the win.
Klinton Kenney shutout the Alvinston Flyers for the second straight game after taking a 1-0 win earlier in the week. Friday night he made 20 saves in Blenheim’s win.
The Blades will now try to inch closer to a series victory Sunday night when they host the Alvinston Flyers for game three. Puck drop is at 7:15pm.
