After losing the opening two games of their Great Lakes Junior C semi-final series in overtime, and then dropping game three 5-2 to the Amherstburg Admirals, and having their backs against a wall down 3-0, the Blenheim Blades won a one goal game of their own Tuesday night, firing back to win their first game of the series.

Cody Leeming gave Amherstburg a 1-0 lead late in the first period, which the Admirals would hold through the intermission.

In the second period, Matt Clark scored, with assists going to Kirk McKillop and Hunter Burk.

Leeming scored yet again midway through the frame to give Amherstburg the lead, but only moments later Teddy McGeen tied it up. Zach Horvath had the helper.

Tied through the first 19-minutes of the third period, Blenheim netminder Klinton Kenney kept his team in the game as the Blades were outshot 34-26, including 15-7 in the third. Then, with only 38-seconds remaining, defenseman Bryan Boersma scored the winner on the power play with Dylan Muzzatti and Nolan VandenBoorn assisting to give Blenheim the 3-2 win.

The two teams will meet again Thursday for game fiveof their best-of-seven series.

In other Great Lakes Junior C news, the Dresden Kings fell 4-1 to the Essex 73s, and now sit on the ropes down 3-0.
