Dresden Kings Swept
Essex jumped out to a four goal lead on Wednesday night and never looked back, finishing the game 6-2.
Dresden’s Dede Cato, with assists going to Macks Holmes and Kevin Ritzer scored midway through the second period to get the Kings on the board.
Dillon Liberty would also score in the third period, this time with Ritzer and captain Derrick Van Every assisting, but it was too little too late for the Kings who were outshot 36-27 in the loss.
Although the Kings are done, there is still important hockey to be played in Dresden this week. The Lambton-Kent Cardinals boys hockey team are scheduled to play their LKSSAA championship game against LCCVI Thursday at 3pm in Dresden.
