The Dresden Kings have dug a 2-0 hole in their best-of-seven playoff series against the Lakeshore Canadiens in round one of the Great Lakes Junior C playoffs.

Friday, the Kings fell behind 5-1 before their offense started clicking, but it was too little too late as the game ended 6-4 in favour of Lakeshore.

After Lakeshore jumped out to a 3-0 lead, rookie Derek Shaw, with assists going to DJ Sapone and Dede Cato, got the Kings on the board.

In the third period, the line of Will Tetzlaff, Derek Daly, and Ross Krieger came alive scoring three goals.

Daly got things going on the powerplay with Tetzlaff assisting.

Then in the final minutes of the game, with the Kings pushing Tetzlaff scored with Daly and Krieger assisting, followed by Daly’s second of the game, this time from Krieger and Steven Funk.

The Kings will next travel to Lakeshore this Tuesday, where they’ll need a win to begin regaining ground in their playoff series.
