The Dresden Kings used two overtime victories to catch the Lakeshore Canadiens, and tie their best-of-seven series at 2-2, including Wednesday’s 5-4 overtime thriller.

After falling behind 2-0 in the series, much like they did in their opening Great Lakes Junior C playoff series, the Kings fought back Wednesday with a huge second period effort.

Steven Funk got the ball rolling in the second frame, before two minutes later, Dillon Liberty knotted the game at 2-2.

Still in the second period, Great Lakes Junior C Rookie of the Year Ross Krieger scored a pair of goals, both assisted by Will Tetzlaff and Jim McKinlay, to give the Kings a 4-2 lead heading to the third.

In the third, the Lakeshore Canadiens scored a pair to tie it up, including the equalizing goal with only 22 seconds remaining, to send it to overtime.

In the extra frame, the Kings capitalized off a turnover, with Taylor Sisson playing hero, firing home the winner.

Lakeshore hosts Dresden Friday night in a game 5 matchup, before the series returns to Dresden Saturday.
