Lancers Win Team Varsity Tournament

The UCC Lancers captured the tournament title at the annual Team Varsity CKSS Senior Girls Volleyball tournament this weekend, defeating the host CKSS Golden Hawks in the championship final.

In Pool Play, UCC split with Vincent Massey 23-25, 25-22, and swept West Elgin 25-12, 25-14.

After being re-seeded, UCC struggled through the gold division play, splitting their match with St Annes, 21-25, 24-25, and CKSS 20-25, 25-20, before losing both to General Amherst 18-25, 14-25.

Entering the semi-final as the 4th place team, UCC played underdog and battled their way to the final defeating General Amherst 25-14, 28-26.

In the final, UCC would face the host CKSS Golden Hawks. UCC continued to roll, sweeping the final, winning 25-21 and 25-10.

Megan Canniff was selected the tournament MVP for the UCC Lancers.
