Lancers Win Toronto Downtown Classic

For the second straight weekend, the UCC Lancers senior girls volleyball team captured a tournament title.

Last weekend, the Lancers won gold at the TVS tournament in Chatham. This week, it was gold again for the Lancers at the University of Toronto Schools Downtown Winter Classic.

UCC went undefeated the entire day, finishing with a sweep of University of Toronto School, 25-22, 25-20, in the final.

Sheridan Rogers was named to the tournament All-Star team.

UCC was 3-0 in pool play defeating Albert Campbell 25-21, 25-19, Monsigner Johnson 25-22, 25-18, and University of Toronto School 25-17, 25-22.

In the quarter finals, UCC beat Etobicoke CI 25-18, 25-13, followed by a 25-12, 25-18 over Pope John Paul in the semi-final, setting up their gold medal match against the University of Toronto School.
