The Chatham-Kent Wildcats Bantam Boys basketball team went 4-0 and captured the gold medal at the Ancaster Magic tournament on the weekend. Outstanding team defense proved to be the difference with the team only allowing one opponent to score over 40-points.

In the gold medal game the Chatham-Kent Wildcats defeated the Pelham Panthers 39-32. Russell Jacques led the scoring with 17 points, while Ethan Jordan had 9 points. Luke Smolders and Bennett Schaffer each had 4.

In semi-final action the Wildcats defeated the Ancaster Magic 49-42. Jacques scored 14, Bennett Schaffer and Ethan Jordan each had 8 points and Evan Torres scored 7.

In pool play the Wildcats defeated, Brantford 33-27. Jacques scored 11, Ethan Jordan had 8, Luke Smolders scored 7 and Weiler Dunlop 5. Chatham-Kent also defeated Blessed Sacrament #2 47-31 with Jacques scoring 15, Jordan 9, Torres 7, Schaffer 7, and Dunlop 4
