The Kent Cobras Minor Atom ‘AA’ team won their OMHA semi-final series this past weekend, advancing to the OMHA finals where they will face Kingston.

Playing the Milton Winter Hawks, Kent took the 6-point series 6-2.

Last week, the Kent Cobras opened the series with a 5-3 win over Milton. Declan Waddick and Daniel Norton each scored a pair of goals in the victory, while Braden Twigg had a goal and an assist.

In game two, Milton bounced back to edge Kent 4-3. Milton jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the game, but the Cobras fought back tying the game at 3-3 after regulation. Ryan Holly and Declan Waddick each had a goal and an assist, while Brendan McKay had a goal, and Braden Twigg had two assists. Milton however, hit the scoresheet last, scoring at 9:52 of the extra frame to take the victory.

Game three would give the edge to one of the evenly matched squads and the Kent Cobras Minor Atom ‘AA’ seized the opportunity. Declan Waddick again powered the Cobras scoring a hat trick, while Logan Houle notched the other Kent goal.

Travelling to Milton this weekend the Cobras had the chance to eliminate the Winter Hawks on their own turf, and did just that. Andrew Goulet had a goal and two assists in the win, including the game winning marker in the third period. Waddick and Maclean Norris had the other goals.

Kent’s OMHA final schedule has yet to be released.
