After a week of voting, Highgate’s Matt Clark has been named CKSN’s Chatham-Kent February Athlete of the Month for 2015.

With the Blenheim Blades, Clark was the top scoring local player for the Blades in the Great Lakes Junior C playoffs, collecting 5 goals and 9 assists in 12 playoff games in February.

The forward, who won an OMHA title with the Ridgetown-Blenheim Chiefs last season helped the Blades eliminate the Alvinston Flyers before falling to the Amherstburg Admirals.

At months end with the Blades eliminated, Clark was recalled to the GOJHL’s Chatham Maroons for their second playoff game, where he scored a goal and an assist in his first Junior B outing.

Clark took close to 25% of the online vote.

Runner Up: Chatham’s Kara Hueniken was the runner up in CKSN’s February Athlete of the Month voting, receiving 16% of the online votes. Skating with the Chatham Thunder U-19 ringette team, Hueniken helped her team to gold at the Kitchener Ringette Tournament scoring 5 goals and 5 assists in 5 games. Also in February, Hueniken and her ringette squad won silver medals at the Newmarket Ringette Tournament where she collected 3 goals and 4 assists in 6 games. As well, Hueniken helped the CKSS Golden Hawks girls curling team win a LKSSAA championship this month
