The Chatham Maroons Junior B hockey club will recognize the team’s “Superfan” Chad Peterson at their upcoming annual awards banquet according to Maroons owner Bill Szekesy.

Peterson, who sits behind the visiting net at each Chatham Maroons home game, spearheaded a bid to have Chatham named Kraft’s Hockeyville, and successfully helped the community reach the Top 10, with voting beginning March 21.

“Chad has been the driving force behind the Chatham Kraft Hockeyville campaign,” said Szekesy. “He’s always at our Home games wearing his hard hat with the red light that flashes when the Maroons score.”

According to Szekesy, the team will honour Peterson with a pair of gifts.

“We, as an organization want to show our appreciation for what he has done by giving Chad a current, personalized Maroons jersey and a 2015-2016 Season Pass.”

“Chad is very passionate about hockey and the Maroons. We’re honoured to be part of his “Chatham Kraft Hockeyville Team!” continued Szekesy.

“I encourage everyone to vote this weekend to get Chatham one step closer to becoming Kraft’s Hockeyville 2015.”
