Sean Pollock will take his lacrosse game from the floor to the sideline this year.

Port Lambton’s Sean Pollock, a Wallaceburg lacrosse product and current National Lacrosse League player, will take on a new role this year, as the local product was named the new head coach of the Shakopee Boys Lacrosse team this week.

Pollock has lacrosse coaching experience on his resume as the Lakeville South head coach, and as an assistant in Wayzata, but will be taking on a new role this season, growing a program in Shakopee, as the high school program enters only its second season.

The Skakopee Sabres are a new high school program located in Minnesota, where Pollock put down roots with his family after playing several seasons with the NLL’s Minnesota Swarm, before he was traded to his current team, the Colorado Mammoth.

“We are excited to have Coach Pollock involved with Shakopee Lacrosse and feel this hire will help accelerate the development of Lacrosse within our community,” said Activities Director, John Janke in a school news release.

Pollock will not be immediately available to join the program as he is finishing his NLL schedule in Colorado. In the meantime, Justin Linde, an assistant from last season will start practices with the team.

“While Coach Pollock will not be available this spring, we have a great deal of confidence in Coach Linde to move the program forward while we wait on the arrival of Coach Pollock in the future,” continued Janke.

Skakopee begins their practice schedule March 30.
