Through Daniel’s Lens: The Community Spirit Shines Through

The Moment I met Chad Peterson for the first time through a mutual friend, I sensed something special in him.

The ‘Maroons Superfan’ as he has become so well known as has persevered through thick and thin in spearheading a campaign to make Chatham the next Hockeyville. As most people know voting is well underway as of today but even if we do not make it here is some food for thought, the fact that Chatham-Kent has made the top 10 is proof enough in my books that when the community comes together and blossoms from the seed of a simple idea, the possibilities are endless.

Chad has done something that few people I knew before him have ever accomplished, he set out with a plan, put it into action and in the process brought some friends and a small town together all for the love of Hockey.

As previously reported, the Chatham Maroons organization plans to honour him for all his hard work in getting us this far and if you ask me there is no one more deserving of the accolades. And don’t forget to give yourselves a hand because our community spirit makes me proud to call Chatham-Kent home.

Memorial Arena is a special place to me and many other locals it’s our temple of hockey and our Barn where generations to come will enjoy what so many before them have Hockey, Fun and Family 🙂
