Thunder Scorers Among Provincial Elite
The Chatham Thunder U-19 Ringette team finished in 4th place at the Ringette Provincial A tournament in Newmarket this past weekend.
The Thunder had three scorers finish in the Top 10 in scoring at the provincial tournament. With a new tournament format this year, Chatham didn’t advance to the semi-finals despite finishing fourth, meaning their players achieved their high scoring results in fewer games than several players who cracked the top 10.
Hannah Doforno lead the way collecting 8 goals and 5 assists for 13 points in 6 games. She finished second overall in tournament scoring. Kara Hueniken was fourth in the tournament with 3 goals and 7 assists, while Tess Scaman was tenth with 3 goals and 4 assists in the tournament.
Overall Chatham finished with a 3-3 record, defeating Timmins (5-4), West Ottawa (5-2), and London (7-0), while falling to Mississauga (4-1), Seaforth (3-2), and Elora-Fergus (5-2).
