Learn To Swim Like A Shark

CHATHAM- Learn to swim like a Shark. The Chatham Pool Sharks are excited to announce a new program designed to introduce kids to the sport of competitive swimming.

Beginning May 4th, Sharks Swim School will introduce kids ages 6-12, to the sport of competitive swimming through an 8-week introductory session. Certified swim coaches, with the help of current senior competitive swimmers, will provide competitive swimming instruction in a fun and encouraging environment. The program is offered thanks to grant funding from the Ontario Sport and Recreation Communities Fund, the Chatham-Kent Community Foundation, and the RBC Learn to Play Community Grant.

This is a great opportunity for kids to try out competitive swimming without making the yearlong commitment. It is also one of the best cross-training activities to support children involved in other sports.

Registration will take place on Saturday, April 25th from 1:00 to 3:00PM in the Lobby of the YMCA of Chatham-Kent. Swimmers need to be able to swim one lap of the pool and feel comfortable in deep water to participate. Practices will take place at the YMCA of Chatham-Kent on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:30 to 5:15PM.
