The Wallaceburg Red Devils dropped their 2015 OLA Junior B regular season opener Saturday afternoon at home to the Windsor Clippers.

The Red Devils fell behind early in Saturday’s opener, and could never regain momentum falling to Windsor 17-8.

After going down 3-0 to start the game, Corey Lucier scored Wallaceburg’s first goal of the season unassisted.

Evan Mathany would then score his first of three goals in the game, followed by a goal from Ryleigh Taylor, but the Red Devils would end period 1 down 5-3.

In the second period, Mike Myers scored a pair, while Mathany, and Ryan Noel also scored. Windsor however, would continue to extend their lead, scoring five more times in the second.

The third period was all Windsor as the Clippers outscored Wallaceburg 7-1 in the frame, with Wallaceburg’s only goal coming from Mathany.

The Wallaceburg Red Devils are back in action next Saturday when they host the Welland Generals at 7:30pm.
